UAE 2015
The GLCM team’s visit to Dubai & Abu Dhabi took place from Jan 4 to Jan 9, 2015. The primary goal of this trip was to gather qualitative and quantitative data that would help develop a market assessment and analysis report of the UAE & the GCC during the midst of a historic oil price collapse.

Prior to the trip, Professor Odeh and his students engaged in preliminary research and networking to develop insight into the target market and initiate contact with some of the major players in the region.
Wonders visit in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
In addition to admiring the wonders of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the team benefited tremendously from the multiple site visits to major construction projects in Dubai & Abu Dhabi to study best practices, including but not limited to Burj Khalifa, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island, and Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The team had round table discussions with the executive board of Atkins, AECOM, Turner, Dentons, Hill International, Parsons-Brinckerhoff (now WSP) and local giants like Emaar & Nakheel Properties.

After returning from the trip, the students worked towards developing a comprehensive market analysis report of the construction industry in the GCC region during the course of their spring semester.
